why do so many people write "isaac" as "issac"? it's like an epidemic, probably more common as a misspelling than "micheal" at this point. i wonder what the reason behind that is...

I would think because double s is just more frequent then double a in the English language.

I've observed in myself that typos involving double letters often involve doubling the wrong letter. It seems our brains store the information "double a letter" in some sense separately from the doubled letter.

@texttheater yeah, i do that frequently, too. also somtimes terribly wrong (even a firstgrader would spot) but equal sounding vowels. even in handwriting! its soo interesting.

@VoiceofDuum hahaha! So true! It happens to me so often. I have no idea why, to be honest. Next time someone spells my name that way, I'll ask them 😋
