if you're asking yourself why that curve works, here's a short explanation:

- the actual clap hit is at 1.2, but it's so heavily drenched in reverb that there's essentially a fairly even bed of noise throughout the whole loop. the curve works in a similar way to the gate in a gated reverb snare (think phil collins - in the air tonight) - after all, a gate is also an automated volume curve (just dependant on the input volume)
- the cat's hump is a little preroll "sshhwwwip!" made from the reverb tail noise
- the ears happen because i give the clap a volume drop after the initial loud attack (the first ear), which creates a pumping feel, to then come back and create an echo-like effect (the second ear), which feels like a snap-back
- said attack is softened a little to not clash with the attack of the kick drum playing together with it

the overall sound is not simply a "Kshh" but more like a "shwKashah"

the best thing about this setup is really that I can just switch out the clap sample for another, and change the whole timbre while keeping the cat features. it doesn't even have to be a clap, any percussion works really, as long as there's some noise for the reverb to smear out.

habt ihr das auch schon beobachtet? ich habe das gefĂŒhl einige geschĂ€fte kommen gerade mit den preiserhöhungen und packungsverkleinerungen im einzelhandel nicht mehr hinterher, und das Ă€ußert sich dann in falschen kilopreisen auf den preisschildern. ich kaufe hauptsĂ€chlich nach denen ein, und dann stellt sich ab und zu heraus, dass der tatsĂ€chliche kilopreis erheblich höher ist als angegeben, wenn z.b. ein schild fĂŒr eine 200g-packung fĂŒr 2,90 daneben hĂ€ngt (am besten noch per filzstift von 2,50 geĂ€ndert), der hersteller aber mittlerweile die packung auf 175g verkleinert hat.

the problem is that friendica is extremely idiosyncratic about the amount of replies to a post it displays, and it can end up making it a chore to scroll through the feed. so, ideally, the script would remember which posts were collapsed, and that definitely doesn't sound like something i'd be able to whip up in an evening

looks like ublock origin may be the currently easiest solution. using the element picker, i can isolate the comments on a specific post and filter them out - then, if i want to see them again, i can turn off cosmetic filtering for the page temporarily.

irgendein kĂŒrzliches thunderbird-update hat das super-nervige feature eingefĂŒhrt, dass die derzeit angewĂ€hlte email angewĂ€hlt bleibt, wenn man auf einer anderen das rechtsklickmenĂŒ öffnet - und zwar visuell deutlich stĂ€rker angewĂ€hlt bleibt! d.h. wenn man z.b. eine spamnachricht erhĂ€lt, und sie per rechtsklick -> löschen entfernen möchte, vermittelt einem das programm den eindruck, man lösche gerade die bis dahin angewĂ€hlte (nicht-spam-)email. wer denkt sich sowas aus? wer testet das (nicht)?

einer der bereiche in denen ich als linkshĂ€nder gefĂŒhlt im vorteil bin, ist das nĂ€gel schneiden: ich kann mit meiner linken hand problemlos die nĂ€gel der rechten schneiden, und mit der rechten bin ich zwar etwas weniger virtuos, aber dafĂŒr funktioniert die verkackte schere mit rechts dreimal so gut, so dass sich das ausgleicht. rechtshĂ€nder dagegen können ihre linke hand nutzlos extra premium stutzen und mĂŒssen fĂŒr die andere seite nicht nur gegen ihre eigene unzulĂ€nglichkeit kĂ€mpfen, sondern auch gegen die der (wie gesagt, verkackten) schere
